HTTP 426 Upgrade Required

HTTP 426 Upgrade Required means the server refuses the request over the current protocol, and the client must upgrade. The request contains an error or can’t be fulfilled. Retrying unchanged won’t help.

Cacheable by default
No

http.StatusUpgradeRequired

What HTTP 426 means

The server names the required protocol in an Upgrade header, for example a newer TLS version or WebSocket. Some WebSocket servers return 426 when a plain HTTP request hits a WebSocket-only endpoint.

Retrying

No. Fix the request first; sending it again unchanged will get the same response.
