Make the calendar policy explicit
The default excludes Saturday and Sunday and includes both endpoints. Change the weekday exclusions for a different workweek. The sample holiday is an example date, not an automatic national calendar.
Count dates, not elapsed working hours
This calculator counts calendar dates. It does not calculate business-hour windows, shift schedules or time-zone-aware SLA deadlines. Use the Date Calculator for ordinary calendar intervals and the Time Zone Converter for named-zone instants.
Example: Friday through Tuesday
Enter 2026-10-23 as the start and 2026-10-27 as the end. Exclude Saturday and Sunday. These results are calculated with the same calendar engine as the tool:
| Policy | Calendar dates | Weekend dates | Weekday holidays | Business days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Both endpoints, no holidays | 5 | 2 | 0 | 3 |
| October 26 supplied as a holiday | 5 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
| Exclude the end date, no holidays | 4 | 2 | 0 | 2 |
A holiday on the Saturday changes none of these weekday counts. Repeating the same holiday date also does not subtract it twice. These rules help avoid a different result merely because two holiday lists contain the same date.
Choose the next date tool
Use Date Calculator for ordinary date intervals, ISO Week Converter to group work by reporting week, or Time Zone Converter when a deadline includes a time and named zone. This business-day result does not automatically account for shift hours or regional make-up workdays.

Frequently asked questions
Does this include national holidays automatically?
No. Holiday rules vary by country, region and employer. Supply the relevant dates yourself. Regional make-up workdays that override a regular weekend are not modeled by this tool.
Are holidays on weekends subtracted twice?
No. Duplicate holiday dates count once, and holidays already excluded by a weekday rule do not subtract another day. Holidays outside the selected interval have no effect.
